Kentfield Residence

New residence – 3000 sq.ft.

Designed as a U shaped single story building set around a courtyard to establish a private outdoor space, this residence is built on an infill lot with neighbors close by each side. Contemporary in many respects by way of the use of natural finishes and materials, certain traditional details are utilized on the exterior in order to feel comfortable in the context of the neighborhood. The entry utilizes a pitched ceiling element to direct the viewer to the central courtyard that, in plan, also splits the private from the public spaces.
